Mr. John Hollinrake visits Iowa State University and meets with ISGC and ISU Personnel
Big thank you to Mr. John Hollinrake, Regional Director of the Office of U.S. Senator Joni Ernst for visiting Iowa State University on Thursday, June 2nd.
Dr. Sara Nelson (Interim Director for Iowa Space Grant Consortium), Dr. Surya Mallapragada (ISU Anson Marston Distinguished Professor), Sophia Magill (ISU Director of Federal Relations), Haley Moon (Assistant Director of Federal Relations), and Carmen Fuchs (Iowa Space Grant Consortium Program Coordinator- who joined virtually) shared information about ISGC research and programs throughout the state.
NASA DEVELOP Paid Research Opportunity
The University of Wyoming is hosting a NASA DEVELOP pop-up node this fall semester. This is a 10-week paid research opportunity, and is open to any current students and recent college graduates as well as transitioning/early career professionals.
Applications are open May 16th-June 24th.
NASA DEVELOP projects focus on helping local, national, and international communities address their environmental concerns while utilizing NASA’s Earth observing fleet of satellites. This is a great opportunity for participants who are interested in practical applications of remote sensing and GIS, specifically in the field of Earth Science.
Responsibilities will include: literature review, data processing and analysis, and producing deliverables- such as a technical report, presentation, and video. Previous GIS or remote sensing knowledge, while beneficial, is not required for acceptance.
Applicants should expect to commit to 20-29 hours per week during their term. This position is paid on an hourly basis that is determined by education level.
